Be Thou My Vision

To know, love and glorify Jesus: This is why I live.

Sunday Setlists – 10/12/08

(This post is a part of Sunday Setlists.)

Services went well this week, though I’m pretty tired from a long Saturday after some hiking!

Early service:

  • We Will Glorify (Twila Paris)
  • Holy Ground (Geron Davis)
  • Have Thine Own Way, Lord (Adelaide Addison Pollard)
  • Fairest Lord Jesus (H. A. Hoffman von Fallersleben/Joseph August Seiss)
  • Choir: Blessing, Honour (Geoff Bullock, arr. by Gary Rhodes)
  • Offertory: Revelation Song (Jennie Lee Riddle)
  • Here I Am, Lord (Daniel Schutte)

Contemporary service:

  • Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble? (Martin Smith)
  • Sing Hallelujah (Mark Stokes)
  • Revelation Song (Jennie Lee Riddle)
  • My Hope Is You (Third Day)
  • Take Me In (Holy of Holies) (Dave Browning)
  • Freedom Reigns (Michael Larson)

God seemed to line up the “themes” of music used in both services this week, unknown/unplanned by us worship leaders. Not exact themes, but I see definite connections, such as songs that relate to the scriptures in Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4! I was also pleasantly surprised by those who knew the song Here I Am, Lord — it was a song I grew up with, but possibly the first time we’ve done it at church. Also, I think some of the congregation is starting to get used to the new songs being introduced. I am enjoying the new songs myself, and looking forward to what the Lord has in store for our congregation! Revival, Lord — bring revival!

Next week, it’s doubtful you’ll see a posting from me! I’ll be on vacation, and am looking forward to some God time and relaxation time!

I’ll probably not be able to post “Compassion Friday” either this week, and John in the Philippines STILL needs a sponsor! Let’s get him a sponsor ASAP!

I really like that contemporary set. We haven’t done “…Mountains Tremble” in forever and a day.

Our sermon was on revival today, so maybe it’s coming….

@Mike: Yes, I am really enjoying the music our other worship leader is bringing in (I only lead the early service).

Revival is DEFINITELY coming! Of course, only God knows when, and how and…. :)

  3. We are feeling it also.
    Isn’t God amazing?

    Amanda,
I’m still amazed at the amount of music you all do on sunday – I bet that’s a lot of prep time! Have a great vacation next week, great songs btw!
