Today was a good though distracting day for me, but I thought the services went extremely well. It was also our first week with our new worship leader for our contemporary service (I lead only the traditional service.) I’m excited about what’s in store for our worship ministry, and praying God will do more in both our choir and in the praise team, both us as individuals and as a whole.
Early service:
- Choir: I Will Call Upon the Lord (Michael O’Shields)
- Blessed Assurance (Fanny Crosby)
- Trust and Obey (John Sammis/Daniel Towner)
- ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus (Louisa Stead/William Kirkpatrick)
- Choir: He’s Always Been Faithful w/Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Sara Groves/Thomas Chisholm/William Runyan; arr. by Gary Rhodes)
- Offertory: Knees to the Earth (Christy and Nathan Nockels)
Contemporary service:
- Look My Way (Lenny LeBlanc/Lindell Cooley)
- Hosanna (Brenton Brown/Paul Baloche)
- Beautiful One (Tim Hughes)
- Better Is One Day (Matt Redman)
- Dance Like a Father (Jessie Goodman)
- Knees to the Earth (Christy and Nathan Nockels)

I like that you did “Knees to the Earth” in both services.
Are there any singers who are in both the praise team and the choir, or who have done both at one time or another?
@Bobby: For Knees to the Earth, our new worship leader for the contemporary service sang/played guitar, and since we usually have a special for offertory, we decided it’d be a great way for the other service attenders to meet him as well! Worked great!
We do have some singers in both groups, and some who have been in choir in the past that are only on the praise team now. I wish all of them could help in choir, but it isn’t always feasible for them or some just would rather do the contemporary stuff.
hey Amanda – praying you’ll feel better soon. Lean into God my friend, we learn alot in those valleys of life…..
great sets.
