This post is apart of the Sunday Setlists blog carnival – click the link to see more worship setlists!
Firstly, I want to draw your attention to Simon, who still needs a sponsor via Compassion, and is just too adorable to leave waiting any longer!
Both services were great today and I feel like God encouraged and spoke to many. It was a bit bittersweet though with today being our senior pastor’s last Sunday. Both groups in their respective services seemed more laid back than usual, and even more awake! I almost slept through early service because I didn’t wake up with my alarm, and I have to be there to lead the music–oops! Luckily God woke me up in time and I scurried out the door to make it just prior to sound check time.
Early service:
- Choir: Come Just As You Are (Joseph Sabolick)
- Calvary Covers It All (Mrs. Walter G. Taylor)
- Still (Reuben Morgan)
- It Is Well With My Soul (Horatio Spafford/Philip Bliss)
- Choir: Lord of My Life (Lanny Allen)
- Make Us One (Carol Cymbala)
Contemporary service:
- Hosanna (Paul Baloche/Brenton Brown)
- I Will Not Forget (Brenton Brown)
- Unchanging (Chris Tomlin)
- Give Us Clean Hands (Charlie Hall)
- Consuming Fire (Tim Hughes)
- The Steadfast Love (Edith McNeill)
- Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Thomas Chisholm/William Runyan)

Thanks for the comment.
That’s so cool that you did “Consuming Fire”. That’s on the top of my to do list right now. Such a powerful anthem.
I hate alarm clocks!!! They wake everyone in the house except me!!!
I with you again Gary on “Consuming Fire”!
Hope the transition to a new senior pastor will go smoothly for you all. keeping you all in prayer.
We have thought about moving to both traditional and contemporary services. But wow, you guys must have to really plan ahead. That is a lot of music to do for one Sunday! Do share your worship planning secrets!
@Wayne:
Ha ha, it’s not too bad… but that’s because our secret is this: We have two different worship leaders, one for each service. Previously, our church had only one worship leader, not sure if he has some secrets in getting it all–I can see where preparation for two totally different rehearsals a week (one with praise team, one with choir) would be difficult. I actually lead our choir and traditional service, but also am on the praise team. My instrumental playing (which I do with the praise team) definitely gets second priority to prep for choir and traditional service.
I don’t know if this might be of help, but I have a post here that includes some of the things I use (inherited from previous worship pastor) to make things easier, especially when planning both the congregational hymns plus choir songs (the choir songs at least have to be planned ahead by about a month, plus Christmas/Easter music). I’m still learning myself (only been at this on my own for about 10 months!), and anything to help stay more organized is of excellent help!
Thanks for your comment! I’m really enjoying the interaction with all of you fellow worship leaders!
