I totally agree. He uses both, but the main thing is that we can't always rely on feelings as much as we can on God's Word. For example, I can have a day where I feel completely distant from God, when in fact He is always there, & will never leave or forsake me as His Word says. If I decided to go by this feeling over God's Word, that would be unfortunate for me & probably cause much grief, whereas if I rely on God's truth in His Word, I can choose not to go by the feeling & trust in Him & what His Word says.

I believe you are right that we need to study God's word regularly as the Word is the way that God speaks to us by his Holy Spirit. However, the Spirit speaks to us many times by feelings and promptings that we know can only come from God. These experiences with the Spirit serve as an anchor in times of struggle.

So I would say yes to studying the word of God and yes to feelings, experiences, etc. as we need both.
